Assistant Director/Counselor

Ellen first moved to Charlottesville in 2005 as part of the Trinity Fellows Program. She received her bachelor's degree in social work from James Madison University in 2003. Ellen received her Master of Arts in Counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando) in 2013. During her time in seminary, she participated in an internship at Oviedo Counseling Clinic where she counseled individuals and couples as well as led various therapeutic groups. Ellen has been at New City since 2013 and particularly enjoys working with clients facing such issues as anxiety/depression, body image, life transitions, trauma, and sexuality. In her spare time, she enjoys taking advantage of the outdoor activities of Charlottesville including hiking and running. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family.
